Kyle Besetzny
Cello
Kyle Besetzny began studying cello at the age of four with Nina Wallenberg at The Music Institute of Chicago. Mr. Besetzny attended Suzuki Book classes on Saturday mornings throughout the early stages of his career. During the Summer of 2007, he attending Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in the Intermediate Division. He returned the following two summers as well as the summer of 2012 in the High School Division.
Throughout Mr. Besetzny’s high school career, he was active in the Maine South Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, and Pit Orchestra. Mr. Besetzny was also part of the Midwest Young Artist’s Concert Orchestra in 2009 and Symphony Orchestra from 2010-2012.
Mr. Besetzny received a Bachelor’s degree from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. During his time at Roosevelt, Mr. Besetzny studied with Tanya Carey. He has also studied with such teachers as John Marshall, David Carter, Astrid Schween, Jeffery Lastrapes, Paul York, and Dmitry Kouzov. Mr. Besetzny also studies Viola da Gamba with Craig Trompeter and is an Eagle Scout.
