James Kowalczyk is a distinguished educator based in Chicago. You can catch him gigging in various cover bands as well as his personal projects with local original artists. After receiving his degree in music technology, James went on to mentor under legendary New York drummer Steve Lyman for a year. Through his mentorship, James has refined not only the physical aspects of musicianship, but also the mental aspects to practicing and performing at a high level. He has also had the opportunity to study with masters such as Matt Garstka (Animals as Leaders), Jeff Hamilton (Maria Schneider), and JP Bouvet (Bouvet Method).

Whether you are looking to play for your own personal enjoyment, or sold out shows in front of massive crowds, James will provide a personalized curriculum to every student to help them achieve their short/long term goals. “I am here to provide a holistic approach to the language of music and inspire a lifelong love creativity and growth.
