RHYTHM, GROOVE & SOUL: MOTOWN GUITAR

This 10-week Motown guitar class focuses on the rhythm, groove, and feel that defined one of the most influential sounds in popular music.

Students will explore classic Motown rhythm guitar techniques including syncopated strumming, tight chord voicings, groove-based playing, and tasteful fills—learning how to lock in with the rhythm section and serve the song.

Taught by Mike Poupko, founder and lead instructor at Our Music Institute, this class is designed for adult guitarists looking to improve timing, feel, and musical confidence while playing timeless soul, R&B, and pop repertoire from artists such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, and The Four Tops.
